.A Day With Miss Jayden.

I love being an Aunt, it has always brought such a great joy to each and every single day of my life. For the last 16yrs I have been able to enjoy that blessing. I feel that I have a special bond with all 26 of them, being that I was the only Aunt not married in the family, until 10 months ago, I had more free time to spend with them and was able to develope that relationship with them. I have Aunt Emmy Days, which aren't able to happen as often any more because I work 7-5, and they all have their after school activities, dance, music lessons, babysitting, homework, family time, etc., it is not often that we have free time at the same time during the week and the weekends are well, we all know how busy they can get! But, when Aunt Emmy Days do get to take place, I try and make a day out of it! Whether it's something low key or totally crazy, we always have a great time. They might see it as a day, night or sleep over that they get to get away from their younger siblings, but I see it as my time with them, bonding and being silly. I have a very deep love for each and everyone of them. I am excited for the younger ones to grow up so I can have that relationship with them, like I do with the older ones. I hope to be that Aunt that is able to always be there for them, have that tight relationship with them. I always envied my friends who had Aunts that they were super close with. I want to be that Aunt.

Today, I got to kidnap Jayden for 8hrs. She will be having her golden birthday next month and is so excited about it! I could seriously be with her 24/7. She is the funniest 11yr old I know, has sass that comes out of know where, is tough, and the most sweet spirited girl with such an amazing tender heart. I just love her to pieces.

Our Day consisted of: Goodwill. Buying New OPI Nail Polish-her pick. Lunch with Levi. Gave us DL on the newest drama in her life. Treated Levi&I to Sonic(she literally jumped out the window to pay). Antique Shopping. Painted her nails. Shopped at San Tan and walked away with some great finds. Ate dinner at In&Out. And since I kidnapped her with only a 15min notice, she didn't get her Saturday chores done and her dad insisted she come home...so she missed the movie. Next time Jayden!!

July 08 in Cali, picking Strawberries. And...we might have ate some while picking...

The beginning of a very crazy Aunt Emmy Sleep Over Aug 08.

And today. She is growing up to be such a beautiful Young Lady. I just love her!!!
don't you just wish you had her big green eyes with extremely long lashes?

.Park City.

Little side note: I really do admire those who can stay up on their post...and have something to post about every other day. I wish I were like you.

A few weeks ago, Levi and I last minute got invited to go stay at a cabin in Park City with some of his friends and their spouses to go Snow Boarding. I declined the offer when he first told me about it because...
A: Money
B: I didn't know any of them...
C: Park City is a long drive for a weekend trip...12hrs long. And in my books, that's too long.
After I gave in, to Levi's surprise, we packed our bags in a short hour and were on the road. We made some phone calls to our family, letting them know where we were going (Thank you to Bear Grylls for the tip). 12hrs later...we were there!!!
It was such a fun weekend, and I am so happy we went! Even though I didn't know really any of them before going, and was quite intimidated at first not going to lie, by the end I felt like I had been friends with all of them for a really long time! Thanks for inviting us Em and John!!
The Group!!

The first night we went into SLC to eat at The Pie. It was well...very ok pizza. I hadn't been there in 3yrs and I just remembered it tasting better. I am sorry to all of you Pie Lovers out there, but i've had better...

I got my replacement camera 2 months ago and I didn't think I was able to do this fun color effect anymore with it and was really bummed...but to my surprise, 1 1/2 months later and a few click on the buttons...IT DOES DO IT!!

Our First Snow Boarding Experience Together!!

For Christmas the last year, we spoiled our selves and got new gear!! It was time we used it!

My sexy husband just doin his thing!!

I hadn't done this in a few years, so Levi gave me a short 101 course on it, went before me and Ta-Da!!

Mmm...He's ALL mine!!!

My hands look ginormous!!! I am wearing Levi's gloves because well...Mine don't really do what they're supposed to do. Keep your hands warm!!!

It was ALMOST the perfect trip....
Around 3pm we headed over to the other side of Brighton on Milly's Run, we were headed down it for a 2nd time. Levi, the entire time we were snow boarding would go speeding down the hill then wait for me to catch up, and then etc. Well...this time he didn't. It was a fun run that you had to get speed at certain areas to hit the jumps, and he just for some reason never stopped. Well, no joke, maybe like 200ft off the lift I lost my balance and didn't really fall by any means, just sorta sat down and popped right back up. My wrist was killing me so I immediately shook it thinking it got dislocated or just tweaked it in some way. Uhh....Nope. It hurt...bad. I held onto it with my left hand the entire was down the mountain. I was way nervous because it just started snowing and I didn't know this run at all. I basically went down the mountain like I was just learning how to snow board. Heel side, facing the mountain just going side...to side...when there was hills coming that I knew I had to get speed for, I just built up the courage to board like I would. Then once over the hill, back to heel side, going side to side.
Levi was waiting for me at the bottom of the mountain. The second he saw me he started running towards me. I had kept my composure and held in the tears the entire way down. But the second he embraced me, I let them fall. We had to walk across the parking lot to the Care Unit. And the entire way over I kept saying "Dr. Robison is going to be so mad at me if it's broken" Haha that's the only thing I cared about at that time for some reason.

The Care Unit didn't take our insurance, so we had to wait for our friends to be done boarding so we could take their car and go to the ER in Sandy.

Waiting to hear the outcome of the xrays...
We sent my parents this picture via email, they called immediatly from Canada to check up on me. I am their accident prone child. No joke. If any injury was going to happen to any of us 8 kids, it's going to be me. (Some say I should stop playing sports and going snow boarding. But I say no way!!!)
And yes...it's broken.

The ER drugged me up, I was so out of it. Bless Levi's heart...he had to eat his cake while I slept on his lap.

And the outcome.
Yes, I went with Purple. Gotta have fun with it, right!?

.The Car Wash.

Sooo over it!!!

I feel like I just threw $20 down the drain...

Anyone else soo over going up to your vehicle and seeing a bunch of scuffs of dirt or oil streaks still on your vehicle after you get it washed? And trying talking spanish (which I know none of...) to the workers to tell them places they missed? So instead, you're walking around the entire vehicle with them pointing out OBVIOUS areas lacking that TLC . Ughhh so frustrating, seriously.

Once this lovely cast comes off, I am going to start washing my vehicles by HAND. Why not, I have everything that is needed to make it look like it was spit shined and I'd rather take that $20 and get a pedi afterwards for a reward of my hard work! (hey...now there's an idea!!!)

Mark my words, because I am sooo over Car Washes!!

Side note: I've had the hicups for well over an hour and I am sooo over them as well. Seriously...

.Bringing in The New Year!!.

I realize I am terrible at blogging right after an event...I will try an make it more of a priority...New Years Resolution #22.

We had a fabulous party with some of our friends to help bring in the New Year! There was all types of food and goodies you could ask for, along with all sorts of games and prizes! I am kicking myself not pulling out the camera with all the games, I guess something I will have to do better at this next year! No one left emptied handed and we all had a splendid time!

.Christmas Day.

So...I am 2 1/2 weeks past due on posting about Christmas Day, no big deal...right? We've been busy (my better half and i...you thought i would have had time to post with a 1 1/2 weeks off of work too!).
For the past 6 years my parents have woken up early and made the rounds to all the grandkids houses. And me, being the only child home (until this year of course) i always went with them. Some years, more often then not, i usually was done by 930...since we started at 630...But NOPE! We still had at least 2 more house to hit! And they were the ones who lived the farthest away too!! Last year Levi went with us. We were engaged and all, so he HAD to come with!! Right? Well this year, even tho it was "Our First Christmas" as a married couple, it was also the day before my parents left for 18months. So of course we continued the Tradition with them, and we had a blast!
Levi and i played Santa's Little Treat Helpers and took everyone Bosa's Donuts! (we went and picked them up Christmas Eve) we tried to take pictures of every family eating their donuts but...we missed 2 houses...whoops!

My parents were ordained as Elder&Sister Owens Christmas Night. It was the most memorable Christmas Night I think i have ever had. Almost all the kids were there with their spouses. The next morning, we woke up and did the final loading of the car. i had to keep my distance the whole morning because i was just about in tears dreading the time of 11:30am. At 10:45 the Mission President finally contacted my parents!! They had only recieved a handwritten letter from him saying how excited he was to have them. But...that didn't answer their question as to what they would exactly be doing for 18months. He explained to them that he took so long to give them their assignment because he just couldn't figure out where he wanted them. They have such young hearts and definetly could not be put in the office...Soooo...they will be living in a home in Leftbridge Canda (aprox 2hrs South of Calgary). There is a University in Leftbridge, that contains 5 singles wards. My parents will be over all of them. What a more perfect calling for my parents!? With my mom's love for girls camp and working with girls (even tho these girls will be in their 20's) and my dad's touching love for the young single adult men. My parents are amazing when it comes to touching the young adult lives. I know they will love it out there and that every Single Adult with just fall in love with my parents! The mission president seriously couldn't have given them more of a perfect place for them. He's right...they do have young hearts and that's one thing I love most about them!!

Soo...maybe i took it harder than i expected to. i had no idea it would effect me this bad...
My mom is my bestfriend (well, after Levi of course!!) The night before they left i had so much i wanted to say. So much that i knew i wouldn't be able to get out without crying through the entire thing. So I laid in bed for about an hour after Levi fell asleep, debating if i should go into the TV room and watch 1 last show with her. i got up, went out there and tears filled my eyes the second i saw her. i simply said "i love you mom, goodnight". Went back in bed and wrote her a very long email. Explaining exactly how i felt about her. More than i have ever explained to her. i miss her dearly.

Their life for the next 18months, packed in a Mini Van!

Such a happy couple, filled with so much joy and love!!

Good Bye!!

Yes...she did run clear around the corner after them. Haha i just love you Christy!

i have had a lot of craft items in my mind, re decorating, and things that need to be done to start making our "section" of the home more homey. My mom gave us the 2 thumbs up and Go Ahead to do whatever we would like to the back rooms...hee hee boy does she have it coming!! I am hoping to start doing the office Face Lift here soon.
